Why work for Te Punanga Reo o Tākitumu?

If you’re passionate about early learning and cultural preservation, Takitumu Punanga Reo is the perfect place for you. Founded with a vision to immerse children in Cook Islands Maori language and culture, we continue to uphold these values as the cornerstone of our educational approach.

OUR STORY

Tamariki Apii Kuki Airani History

Takitumu Punanga Reo operates under the guidance and support of the ‘Tamariki Kuki Airani Trust’ (TAKA Educational Trust). This Registered Charitable Organsation, inspired by Mario Caffery’s personal journey of fostering a young girl from Pukapuka, aims to further the education of Cook Islands students who are financially or socially disadvantaged. The TAKA Educational Trust is dedicated to empowering and strengthening the children of the Cook Islands, fostering skills that benefit both individuals and their communities.

Our collaboration with Pa Ariki, a respected leader and custodian of Cook Islands heritage, has provided us with a venue at Mata Enua in Turangi. This location, rich in cultural significance, ensures that our educational programs are deeply rooted in the traditions and values of our ancestors, offering an authentic learning environment for our children.
